Bayonetta developer Platinum Games enters mobile space with Cygames collaboration

Bayonetta developer Platinum Games has partnered with Cygames in a deal that will see the developer creating its first mobile game.

Platinum will be developing two games - its own original mobile game, LOST ORDER, and a console adaptation of Cygame's mobile series GRANBLUE FANTASY, GRANBLUE FANTASY Project Re:Link.

The studio's CEO Kenichi Sato said it plans to extend further into mobile game development from this point forward. It will still maintain its console game development operations, however.

A unique method of expression

"The improved capabilities that come with the evolution of smart devices have become a source of inspiration to us, and we feel these devices offer unique ways of expressing ourselves through our content," said Sato.

"From here on out, we will participate more actively in development for mobile platforms through titles such as LOST ORDER."

LOST ORDER is currently only planned for release in Japan on iOS and Android. There is no official word on whether it will find its way West in the future.
