Com2us reveals Skylanders Ring of Heroes mobile game but appears to ditch toys-to-life aspect

Summoners War developer Com2us has revealed a new Skylanders Ring of Heroes mobile game as part of its partnership with publisher Activision.

A turn-based RPG with some real-time elements, players take on the role of ‘Portal Master’ and must collect and combine Skylanders to battle enemies and defeat the evil magician Kaos.

No toys-to-life?

As well as single-player the title is set to feature a PvP mode. It does not appear to utilise any of the toys-to-life elements that have previously formed the foundation of the IP.

The Skylanders Ring of Heroes beta is currently live until June 25th on Google Play. It’s expected to receive a full release on both the App Store and Google Play in Q3 2018.

The title is part of a partnership South Korean developer Com2us signed with Activision in 2017.

Com2us is most famous for its MMORPG Summoners War, which has generated well over $1 billion in revenue and remains a popular title for the company.
