Jam City's narrative adventure game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has landed in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
It has been fully localised in traditional Chinese and is available on iOS and Android.
Gameplay revolves around creating your own wizard and putting them to task through Hogwarts. The title also includes recent additions such as Year Four and player pets.
Global expansion
"Harry Potter is a globally treasured franchise with storylines and characters that resonate with fans around the world,” said Jam City CEO Chris DeWolfe.
“We are so excited to bring the magic of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery to players in Hong Kong and Taiwan so they can experience the adventure of the Wizarding World as the story continues to unfold."
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery was on the receiving end of a backlash from some critics and consumers early into its release due to its energy system for monetisation. As such, Jam City altered the prices of IAPs following a round of A/B testing.
Despite the controversy it has still provided a draw for players. As previously reported, Hogwarts Mystery broke into the US App Store top 10 grossing chart at third for games on April 26th, before peaking at second a few days later.
It remained a top 10 grossing game until May 12th.
