Capcom has released its full-year financials for the period ending March 31st 2017.
It posted sales of $782.5 million for the year, an increase of 13.2% on its FY16 sales. It also saw profits rise to $79.7 million, up 14.6% year-on-year.
The bulk of this came from its Digital Contents sector, which includes its mobile games. Sales for the segment were $526.6 million for the year, up 11.7% from the previous fiscal year.
Empty palms
As has become a trend with Capcom's financials, it barely touched on its mobile games. The only title it mentioned was Toraware no Paruma, which was a top-grossing game in Japan in Q2 FY17.
The publisher said, in an effort to strengthen its business in the sector, that it is looking to "break through the current situation of its online games and mobile contents businesses" using major IP such as Monster Hunter.
It had previously tried to launch a Monster Hunter mobile title called Monster Hunter Explore in the West following three million downloads in Japan. However, after just two months of soft launch in Canada, it was cancelled without explanation.
