Rewarded play platform Almedia has acquired cashback provider Zave.it for an undisclosed sum.
Zave.it largely operates in the German market and lets users claim money back from purchases at online stores, as well as support content creators.
Almedia said it hopes the deal will provide it with closer partnerships to the retail and financial sectors as it aims to build its rewarded play platform Freecash into an "engagement engine".
Earlier this year, Almedia was ranked as Europe's third fastest-growing company in FT1000 listing. We spoke with the company's CEO Moritz Holländer last year about its plans.
Player engagement
“The evolution of rewarded user acquisition from a niche method into a required ingredient in mobile marketing strategy has been undeniable over the last few years," said Almedia CEO and founder Moritz Holländer.
“This acquisition is a landmark step in our mission to build the world’s smartest engagement engine.
“By fusing zave.it’s expertise in commerce, scalable tech stack, and industry reputation with our data science team and global reach, we are building a platform that allows brands to engage audiences across more and more sectors.”
Zave.it co-founder Dominik Oppelt commented: “Joining forces with Almedia is the natural and most exciting step in our journey.
“Almedia’s incredible UA strategy synergises perfectly with the zave.it tech ecosystem, so we are excited to build the future of digital rewards together and provide a unified platform for consumers to receive tangible rewards."
