Apple quietly discontinues 256GB model iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

Apple has quietly discontinued the 256GB models of its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices while lowering the price of its smaller models.

Its online store no longer displays the 256GB model of either device, a change that appears to have occurred during the special event keynote. The 256GB model was still available as of Monday September 11th 2017.

Apple also appears to have discontinued its iPhones produced in partnership with AIDS charity (RED). The phones were launched in March 2017 and came with a red finish, with part of the proceeds from each sale going to the (RED) Global Fund.

Dropping models, dropping prices

Along with all the discontinuations, Apple has also dropped the price of its 32GB and 128GB iPhone 7s. A 32GB iPhone 7 will now cost $549, while the 32GB iPhone 7 Plus costs $669.

The refresh of its stock comes after the company announced three new models of iPhones. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus launch on September 22nd 2017, while the iPhone X launches November 3rd.
