BBM social SDK v1.0 released for avatar interaction, achievements and viral app distribution

Following on from the BlackBerry DevCon Americas 2011 in San Francisco, I'm particularly keen to see what the company does with its BlackBerry Messaging service.
We're expected tight integration with Scoreloop in terms of gaming network, but in the meantime developers can get their chops into BlackBerry Messenger Social Platform SDK v1.0, which has just been released.
Indeed, the company has been pushing this already with apps using BBM services already downloaded 25 million times.

Released as part of the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK v2.2, the BBM Social Platform SDK adds various functionality including the ability to access user profile information such as status, avatar and personal messages; create app-specific custom areas such as achievements; share applications in terms of viral app distribution; as well as initiate application-to-application background communication through BBM for sending and receiving application data.
It all sounds very interesting.
