Epic Games says Tegra mobile devices are the future

Epic Games has been moving closer and closer to the mobile platforms lately, with its coders testing out Unreal Engine 3 on devices such as the iPhone - and with considerable success.
VP Mark Rein has also expressed his interest in the forthcoming Apple iPad, and speaking to Develop, has talked about mobile platforms being a "bridge to the future".
"Tegra 2 features a high-speed dual-core architecture mated to a DX9-class GPU with a decent amount of memory and a good bus speed," he says.
"It is amazingly powerful for a mobile platform and performs well within the power range that youd want for Unreal Engine 3, so it could be a good fit for our engine."
Tegra silicon has already been used in Microsoft's Zune HD device, while Unreal Engine 3 has been spotted running on an unidentified, Tegra 2-powered device, so it seems Rein isn't alone in looking to the next generation of powerful smartphones as a serious gaming platform.
