In-app merchandising and 3D printing specialist FabZat has just closed a Series A funding round led by Alderville Holding.

Kima Ventures, Nestadio Capital, Crédit Agricole Aquitaine Expansion, and Expanso Capital also participated to bump the investment up to $800,000.

Cash injection

FabZat has confirmed that it will be using the funds to cement its position within the smart toys market, building upon its portfolio of 3D printed figurines, t-shirts, posters, phone cases and more.

The French start-up works with developers to help them generate additional revenue from in-app merchandising. By using its SDK plugin to enable its turnkey full service chain players can turn supported in-app items into real world objects like 3D prints, plushies and T-shirts.

FabZat CEO Florent Pitoun explained the idea in a talk at Pocket Gamer Connects London in January, and will be giving another talk on market opportunities at Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco in July.
