Social casino consolidation continues as GSN Games acquires Plumbee

Consolidation in the competitive and lucrative mobile social casino market continues with the news that #4 social casino publisher GSN Games has acquired UK studio Plumbee.

Backed by Endemol and Idinvest Partners, Plumbee is best known for its Mirrorball Slots game.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed

San Francisco-based GSN adds the 40-strong team and its London location to a set up with offices also in Boston, Palo Alto, Washington, D.C., Bangalore and Zaporozhye, with the latter gained when GSN recently acquired US/Ukrainian outfit Idle Gaming.

"This important acquisition will immediately bolster GSN Games' ambitious growth plans by leveraging the top talent and social casino expertise of Plumbee to create best-in-class winning experiences for our players," said Steve Brunell, GSN's COO.

"We are also excited about the expansion of GSN Games into the United Kingdom, where we will look to capitalize on the high concentration of world-class gaming talent to supplement our outstanding Plumbee team."

GSN, which is best known for GSN Casino and Bingo Bash, now boasts 47 million gamers.
