Tools provider Havok has reduced its licensing fee for game studios with development budgets under $20 million.
The move will see studios with development costs under the figure paying $50k per game to use its tech, with no royalties owed. The company’s tools include its physics engine Havok Physics and pathfinding tech Navigation.
Cutting costs
Access to Havok's full feature set will allow developers to create games for console, PC, and mobile. They’ll get the latest Havok technology throughout development and can build or modify Havok’s Unreal Engine plugins to suit their needs.
The company’s tech has been used in a number of titles across platforms, including Helldivers 2, Destiny 2 and Astro Bot.
