Infold Games’ open-world fashion RPG Infinity Nikki is introducing co-op in a major new update launching tomorrow, April 29th.

The Version 1.5 update, Bubble Season, will add new social features and two-player online play to new multiplayer zone Sea of Stars. This will allow for real-time shared experiences and interactions, with players to be able to teleport to each other, pose together for photos and more.

There will also be a new type of gameplay in Bubble Trails, requiring stylists to team up and coordinate bubble props to guide each other through hidden paths. Bubble Escort, meanwhile, will see duos protect a delicate bubble through a hazardous path.

Multiplayer manoeuvres

Infinity Nikki’s upcoming emphasis on co-op and teamwork follows four consecutive months of declining player spending on mobile, according to AppMagic data. The cosy cross-platform game surpassed $16 million on mobile in its first 30 days but has been unable to consistently repeat or surpass its earnings from December 2024.

While Infinity Nikki did achieve record daily mobile earnings on January 25th, at $1.5m, the month as a whole was not lucrative enough to surpass its launch. Furthermore, Infinity Nikki has failed to reach $1m in daily mobile revenue since.

Most recently, Infinity Nikki generated $6.9m in the month of March, and with three days of April left to go, it has generated just $3.6m this month.

More in line with previous updates, Version 1.5 will also introduce new events and outfits for Nikki to wear, including two limited five-star outfits and five free costumes. The option to dye parts of outfits is also being introduced to further expand customisation options.

With part of Infinity Nikki’s monetisation being built around its gacha outfits, this is likely to provide a temporary boost to player spending, but whether multiplayer content creates a more long-lasting buzz remains to be seen.
