Clash Royale is currently Supercell’s best-performing game, achieving revenue heights unseen from the title since 2017.

According to AppMagic data, July 2025 was the game’s most lucrative month in almost eight years at $77 million from gross player spending between the App Store and Google Play. This marked a 50% increase month-over-month and a 251% increase year-over-year.

The title was already making a comeback with a post-pandemic record this June, and has only continued to grow with its new game mode Merge Tactics in July.

Clash Royale appears to be having its ‘Brawl Stars moment’, reinforcing Supercell's recent status as something of a comeback king.

On a roll

Player spending this July was at its highest level since December 2017, when the title made $80.5m. Since then, it has spent the better part of a decade unable to surpass $70m in monthly spend, until now.

Clash Royale generated $77m this July, more than doubling Brawl Stars’ $37m and Clash of Clans’ $33.6m for the month - and outearning both games combined.

Clash Royale achieved this in its fifth consecutive month of growth, which began this March and started building steam in April with overhauls to in-game systems.

The development team purposely made changes that would encourage more daily battles, allow players to focus on their preferred modes, and "eliminate every barrier" in reward collection.

In this current growth phase, initially player spending wasn’t outside the standard range for Clash Royale. The increase in March was by 12% M/M and April grew by another 14%, but Y/Y their changes were negligible. May was when growth became more significant, up 66% M/M to $39.6m.

Brawl Stars’ revival took a somewhat different form. Rather than snowballing, it spiked more immediately with a 28% rise in September 2023, then slowed to just 16% growth in October. Comparing third-month growth, Brawl Stars’ spending rose by just 14% versus Clash Royale’s 66%.

For Brawl Stars, it was the fourth consecutive month of growth where the rise became more significant, up 69% in December 2023. Ultimately, its upward trajectory continued for nine consecutive months, hitting a lifetime spending peak in May 2024 at $106.3m.

Clash Royale’s rebound hasn’t yet rocketed it to a lifetime high, but it is a post-pandemic record. Furthermore, the title continues to see major monthly growth and was the top-grossing Supercell title this July, beating the company’s six other global games.

It should be noted that the estimates here do not reflect revenue through Supercell's own store. Between the App Store and Google Play, Clash Royale accounted for 45% of all player spending in Supercell games last month.
