PUBG developer Krafton has had a record-breaking first half of the year with ₩1.5 trillion ($1.1 billion) in revenue and ₩703.3bn ($508.5 million) in operating profit.

The figures were achieved over the course of H1 2025 and marked a substantial rise over H1 2024, with revenue up by almost 12% and operating profit up by almost 10% year-over-year.

Mobile’s performance was "strong" over the six-month period, having contributed ₩960bn ($694.1m) of Krafton’s revenue or 62% of the total sum. Titles like Battlegrounds Mobile India were highlighted in the company’s latest financials for continuing to collaborate with Indian brands, resulting in a growing presence in the country.

By contrast, PC was responsible for 543.2bn ($392.7m) in earnings, and console and "other" for 33bn ($23.9m) over the first half of this year. These equated to 35% and 2% of total revenue respectively.

Quarter versus quarter

Krafton’s record H1 has come as the company seeks to hit ₩7tn ($5.1bn) in revenue and double its corporate value by 2029.

2025’s strong performance thus far was driven primarily by the first quarter, when the company generated ₩874.2bn ($632.1m) in revenue at a 31% Y/Y increase. A further ₩662bn ($478.6m) was generated in Q2, resulting in that ₩1.5tn ($1.1bn) total.

Operating profit, meanwhile, reached ₩457.3bn ($330.6m) in Q1 and ₩246bn ($177.9m) in Q2.

Evidently, both metrics were stronger during the first quarter than the second. This was driven by the PUBG franchise as well as InZOI, a life simulation game on PC published by Krafton this March. The title is the fastest-selling in the company’s history, having achieved more than 1m sales in its first week.

Mobile was also more lucrative in Q1, at ₩532.4bn ($385m) versus ₩427.6bn ($309.2m) in Q2. The latter quarter marked a 15% decline Y/Y and a 20% decline quarter-over-quarter. However, Krafton is not concerned about the decline, and noted that H1 mobile revenue still grew by 6% Y/Y.

"For those of you who have been following our company for quite some time and have interest in our company, you’ll know we usually have stronger performances in terms of traffic and revenue in Q1, and relatively weaker in the second quarter," Krafton CFO Dongkeun Bae acknowledged in the H1 earnings call.

"So compared to the Q1 figure, yes, there’s been a slight decline. However, compared to the business plan that we set up at the beginning of the year, I can tell you that we are quite solid. Hence we do not have any particular concerns about the traffic trend going forward."

PUBG Mobile is also set to kick off a Transformers crossover this September, bringing new themed areas and the likes of Optimus Prime and Megatron to the game in bot and vehicle forms.
