Lagos Games Week 2025 kicks off week of talks, exhibitions and showcases

Annual trade fair and industry conference Lagos Games Week is underway, kicking off a week of talks, B2B networking and esports finals.
The Lagos Games Week conference itself is taking place on June 19th and 20th, 2025, featuring more than nine speakers across various sessions. The event also houses its own exhibition for developers, publishers, service and tool providers.
PocketGamer.biz will be at the show reporting on the talks, with a keen interest in the mobile space. The track features speakers from Maliyo Games, Africacomicade, Virtuos, Kucheza and Masseka Games.
Two days of B2B networking
Backed by the French Consulate in Nigeria and hosted by Kucheza Gaming, the event will also feature global players like Ubisoft, Ustwo Games, Nintendo’s Digital Schoolhouse, and Minecraft partner Endorah.
This year's event builds on the success of last year’s edition, which saw over 3,000 participants from studios, gamers, enthusiasts, policy makers, investors, and educators.
“For too long, African game developers have operated on the periphery of global gaming,” said Maliyo Games CEO Hugo Obi.
“This is changing. What we need now are scalable platforms, long-term investment and trade-focused dialogues like the one Lagos Games Week is fostering.”
Kucheza Gaming founder and Lagos Games Week convener Bukola Akingbade added: “To play in a global marketplace, we have to be Game Ready as an industry. Being game ready requires skill, capacity, infrastructure and investment.”
