Pocket Gamer Connectsis a mere four days away from kick-off in Finland and lasts from September 11th to 12th.

And as it is, indeed, a new day that also means there is a new track to rundown in preparation.

Today’s lucky contestant is the Monetiser track. Monetising is the great balancing act of games development, making enough money to keep things ticking is a must but so is keeping good player retention.

To alleviate the stress of said balancing act, we’ve assembled an experienced collection of speakers to engage and inform.

September 11th

09:20 – Kicking this off is our block of Unity Mobile Business mobile talks. First on up is Unity Ads head of business development EMEA Slava Taraskin with a talk keynote on monetisation beyond ads.

Taraskin’s talk will go into recent innovations like AR ads and about best practices in achieving high revenue performance through ads and Unity’s three new revenue/retention products.

09:40 – Keeping with Taraskin, the talk will shift to IAP Promotions and leveraging Unity’s data to grow your IAP revenues.

10:00 – Next up is a talk from Unity Ads business development manager Jocelyn Shieh on machine learning product LiveTune and increasing retention and session length through live games performance optimisation.

10:20 – Rolling on in our Unity Mobile Business block is Nvizzio Creations executive producer Sylvain Constantin.

An early adopter of Unity’s new revenue products, Nvizzio will share their success with LiveTune and Unity Ads. More specifically, how it increased D30 retention by 50 per cent with LiveTune.

10:40 – Rounding off the block is Pixonic lead games designer Anatoly Shestov on five things it does to retain it’s 1.5 million daily active user player base in War Robots.

11:00 – next up in our first panel of the day, which is all about ad monetisation.

Taking to the stage will be HyprMX director of business development Robert May, Pixowl COO Sebastien Borget, Creative Mobile head of growth Marianna Krjakvina, Hatch director of ad and campaign operations Sara Salmi and Playstack product manager Aaron Ludlow.

11:20 – Chartboost GM of EMEA and India Johan Lofstrom will delve into the good, the bad and the ugly of in-game monetisation.

More specifically, Lofstrom will share his perspective on the status quo, challenges, and future of in-app monetisation.

11:40 – PlayStack Helsinki general manager Juha Huhtakallio will give a talk titled “Introducing the new publisher and fund in Nordics, Baltics and Russia".

12:00 – Bango VP of product marketing Guy Singh will delve into how to unleash the power of operator data to convert nine times more playing users.

12:20 – Rounding us off in typical PGC style is a panel. This one tackles driving games growth through balance with a focus on hybrid monetisation approaches.

Taking the stage will be MoPub at Twitter business development EMEA Thomas Ghiazza, Fluffy Fairy Games business development director Nate Barker, Flaregames brand manager Frederike Rasche and BoomBit head of mobile marketing Matej Lancaric.

And that’ll wrap up the track for this year. However, those 10 talks make up just one track out of 12 the show will have on offer. Which include our Indie Track, Esports Academy and the Game Changers track, the latter of which will take a close look at chat app gaming and hyper-casual.
