Scopely's Monopoly Go! has amassed over $3 billion in revenue since its launch.

According to Hasbro's second quarter 2024 financials this also makes Hasbro the top licensor of video games over the past year.

SensorTower data also shows that Monopoly Go! has become the fastest game to reach $3 billion in worldwide consumer spending in just 473 days after its launch on Tuesday, April 11th, 2023.

“Licensing was another standout in the quarter. Momentum in Monopoly Go! from our partners at Scopely continued in Q2, accelerating our revenue recognition beyond the minimum guarantees and driving healthy upside to both revenue and operating profit."

“The team continues to have an active pipeline of licensing opportunities across PC, console, mobile and casino, leveraging our rich IP," Cocks told investors.

Exceeding expectations

Hasbro CFO Gina Goetter also shared that several titles outperformed, especially Monopoly Go!, which exceeded expectations.

Q2 revenue grew 20% year over year, largely due to strength in digital licensing, led by Monopoly Go!.

According to the CFO, Hasbro expects the free-to-play game to generate around $105 million in revenue for the full year, assuming a modest monthly revenue decline and consistent marketing support.

Earlier this month, Scopely and Hasbro teamed up to launch a new board game based on Monopoly Go!.
