Indian games publisher Nazara Technologies has acquired UK outfit Curve Games for ₹2.47bn ($28.9 million).

The deal will see Curve’s ownership transfer from Catalis Group to Nazara, with the company to retain its London office and all its staff and leadership.

Curve’s in-house development studios are also included in the acquisition, namely UK-based Runner Duck and Canadian IronOak Games.

Nazara said the deal enables it to expand into the PC and console space. The Indian publisher previously acquired UK mobile studio Fusebox Games.

Cross-platform expansion

Curve has generated more than 100m downloads across its portfolio, which includes titles such as Human Fall Flat, For the King II and Badlands Crew. The company accumulated approximately £24.4m ($32.6m) in revenue in 2024.

Nazara also expects the acquisition to enable cross-platform IP development.

"Curve’s proven expertise in PC and console publishing makes them an ideal partner as we expand our focus beyond mobile into high-quality, cross-platform gaming," said Nazara Technologies CEO Nitish Mittersain.

"This acquisition deepens our capabilities, brings exceptional IP into our fold, and strengthens our mission in building Nazara as a global gaming powerhouse from India. Curve will also serve as a gateway to the world for Indian game developers."

Curve Games executive chairman Stuart Dinsey commented: "Joining the Nazara family is an exciting new chapter for Curve. Nazara’s ecosystem, access to emerging markets and long-term orientation make them a strong strategic partner.

"We are aligned in our vision of building a leading global indie publishing platform, and we look forward to the next phase of growth together."

Catalis Group chair Sharon Baylay added: "We’ve been proud to have Curve Games, a multi-award-winning publisher of great indie games, within our group. However, we know that they will take their successes to a new level as part of Nazara Technologies. We are grateful for the contribution of the Curve Games team, and we wish them well on the next stage of their journey."
