King soft-launches new entry in Bubble Witch Saga series, disguises it as "Wilbur"

Not content with releasing one direct sequel to its bubble-popping puzzler Bubble Witch Saga, King looks to be making the series into a trilogy with the recently soft-launched Wilbur.

While not officially titled Bubble Witch Saga 3, the gameplay and story elements that are evident strongly support the theory that it is in fact a threequel.

That, and the package name is "com.king.bubblewitch3", in case there was any doubt left.

The cat's pajamas

The current title of Wilbur is in reference to the game's main antagonist, a magical cat who stands as the player's main reason to work their way through the many levels of familiar bubble-popping that awaits them.

The game was soft-launched on April 25 2016 on Android in the Philippines only, and it's currently unclear when exactly it will be pushed out to other territories.

It joins the midcore RPG Hero in King's catalogue of recently soft-launched games.
