Unity pushes on into artificial intelligence efforts with new VP of AI and Machine Learning

Unity has hired Uber's head of machine learning Dr. Danny Lange as its VP of AI and Machine Learning.

His role at Uber involved him building a machine learning platform for the company to help sustain its growth. At Unity he will lead its efforts in AI and machine learning.

Lange has also held roles at IBM, General Motors, and Microsoft. He was also previously General Manager at Amazon Machine Learning, which provided machine learning on a cloud platform.

"Danny's deep, technical background and expertise in Machine Learning align perfectly with the needs of our developers in the rapidly changing world of games and AR / VR," said Unity CEO John Riccitiello.

"We look forward to Danny creating innovative technologies our developers can use to help them optimize engagement and revenue for their products."
