"Codeless" game engine Buildbox has unveiled a new Buildbox Everything promotion which offers developers $100,000 worth of resources when they try the engine.
The resources include $62,000 worth of art assets, $15,000 worth of sounds, and $12,000 worth of "illustrated art". The rest of the bundle includes source code for games and courses in setting up a business and publishing games.
A Buildbox subscription costs $99 for a month and can be cancelled at any time. The resources will be available to developers even if they sign-up and then immediately cancel.
Doing the unthinkable
"During these last 6 years with the game business, we've spent over $100,000 on custom art and sound, and now we have one of the largest asset databases for games," wrote Buildbox Social Media Manager Tiana Crump in a blog post on the promotion.
"We've decided to do the unthinkable and give all of this away to anyone who tries Buildbox during this limited promotion."
The promotion is available for a limited time, but Buildbox has not specified when it actually ends. In a separate post, CEO Trey Smith suggests that the promotion will be over once the company reaches an internal sales figure.
Buildbox is the technology which initially powered indie hit Color Switch. The game has gone on to be downloaded over 100 million times.
