Zynga nabs licence for new mobile game Boggle With Friends

Zynga has added a new game to its With Friends franchise by launching Boggle With Friends.

The game had been in soft launch since February 15th 2017 in the Philippines. Uniquely, it has not received a single update between its soft launch and its official launch.

Boggle With Friends is a mobile version of the wordsearch board game Boggle. Players can challenge their friends in head-to-head events and tournaments, or play solo to try and climb the leaderboards.

So many friends

Its release leaves Zynga with two other With Friends titles in soft launch – Crosswords With Friends and an updated version of New Words With Friends. The latter was first soft-launched in October 2016.

Zynga is known for its casual games as much as it is for continually making losses in the last few years. However, it has actually experienced strong revenue growth in recent quarters and generated more mobile revenue than EA Mobile in Q4 FY16.

The developer also made headlines this week for its purchase of four Solitaire games from relatively-unknown developer Harpan for $42.5 million. What it intends to do with the new purchases is yet to be seen.
