Pokemon Go developer Niantic has acquired Marvel Strike Force developer Seismic Games.

The Los Angeles-based studio has developed titles for both mobile and VR, including Blade Runner: Revelations. It has previously partnered with companies Marvel, FoxNext and Sony Television.

Seismic Games will continue to see through its existing development as the studio transitions into building new AR experiences with Niantic and its Real World Platform.

The studio is comprised of industry veterans from EA/Pandemic and Activision, which has experience leading development on the original Star Wars: Battlefront.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“At Niantic, we’re committed to our mission of motivating people to exercise, be social, and discover new places,” said Niantic CEO John Hanke.

“We’re confident that Seismic Games will help us deliver on that mission faster and better.”

Marvel: Strike Force has enjoyed a successful start to life since launching back in March and has pulled in more than $25 million in revenue.

It has been installed across iOS and Android 10 million times.
