The developers of Beatstar and Country Star have announced that both games will cease development and servers will be permanently shut down on October 31st, 2025. After this date, neither game will be accessible.

In a statement, the development team expressed gratitude for the games’ communities highlighting the support and dedication from players and team members over the past four years.

Players will still be able to access the games and use current game content until the servers are closed. However, purchasing additional content with payment methods outside of in-game currency has been disabled.

Transitional plans and support

NextBeat is offering refunds for purchases made between July 18th, 2025, and August 18th, 2025, which can be requested through the game’s support portal until October 31st, 2025.

To allow players to continue to enjoy the games, the team has extended events and season passes until the shutdown date. Players will also see adjustments with daily gem updates, card rewards distribution amounts and song lifecycle updates during these periods.

The FAQ section states that once servers shut down, there are no plans to bring Beatstar back in the future and that four team members remain at NextBeat to ensure the closure of the game runs smoothly.

Just earlier this month, NextBeat was bought by learning platform Duolingo.
