Correction: Previously the data provided by Sensor Tower showed Golf Clash's revenue for August as $25.8 million, this data was incorrect and has been altered to $13 million. The prior year's data has been amended from $20.9 million to $10.5 million.

Original story: Playdemic's casual game Golf Clash has racked up more than $225 million in revenue since releasing in January 2017.

According to Sensor Tower, Golf Clash swung $13 million in August, which is a 23 per cent increase year-on-year from the $10.5 million made in August 2017.

The lion’s share of revenue has come from the US, which accounts for 69 per cent of player spending with $157 million.

The UK, meanwhile, represents the second most significant contribution with 7.6 per cent of revenue contributed.

Hole in one

Regarding downloads, Google Play has proven more kind with 55.6 per cent of Golf Clash’s 38 million installs.

For August, Golf Clash ranked 377th for games regarding downloads on Android at 2.78 million.

Golf Clash has also enjoyed a fine run of the awards circuit since lancing and picked up the Game of the Year award at TIGA Games Industry Awards, along with a BAFTA in the mobile games category.

Playdemic was acquired by Warner Bros-owned TT Games in early 2017 for an undisclosed fee. The initial plan was to develop new games based around the LEGO IP, but this may well have changed following the huge success of Golf Clash.
