Why indie games developers should head to Pocket Gamer Connects London 2018

Pocket Gamer Connects London 2018 is just over a week away (it takes place on January 22nd to 23rd), which means there’s still time to grab you ticket.

But why would you even want to go to such an event? Well… if you’re an indie developer we’ve got a few reasons that might just entice you to head to the show.

Special indie price

For indie developers, attending conferences isn’t always easy - which is why we’re offering specially lower-priced tickets for indie developers who want to attend.

If you're a student, you can also get in for even less.

Key industry figures in town

We’re expecting more than 2,000 delegates from the global games industry from over 950 companies, including indies, dev studios, publishers, c-level executives, investors, service providers, hardware manufacturers, students, media and more. So there will be networking opportunities galore!

If you register now you can access our meeting system and start setting up meets right away.

Lots to learn

Across PG Connects, PC Connects and XR Connects, we’ve got a packed 21-track schedule consisting of 70+ hours of content, from classic topics monetisation strategies, market overviews, industry trends, tech focus, development knowhow and indie success stories to newcomers influencer marketing, blockchain/ICO, company culture, eSports, AR insight and an all-new PC digital gaming programme.

If you’re interested in stories from other indies, the Indie Strategies track has you covered - we’ve got the likes of Mode 7 Games, Hello Games, Imperia Online, Tricky Tribe, Fat Fish Games, CoolGames and many more offering handy tips from their own experiences.

You can view the full PGC schedule here.

Party on

A games industry conference wouldn’t be complete without the opportunity to party. And we’ve got you covered. The Global Connects Party on January 22nd offers a chance to let your hair down and relax with industry peers. It’s also another great opportunity to network.

Indie pitching

Got a hot new game to show off? There’s still time left to get your submission for one of our Indie Pitches. If you’re a mobile developer, check out the Very Big Indie Pitch, for PC devs, head to the PC Indie Pitch, while augmented reality and virtual reality indies should consider the XR Indie Pitch.

The Indie Pitch is conducted in a ‘speed dating’-style process where developers have four minutes to pitch to journalists and industry experts. Once everyone has pitched the judges will confer to pick the winners, who will be named at the end of Day Two (January 23rd).

It’s a great way to network, get your game in front of journalists and also receive feedback.

There are limited spots left, but it’s a great way to get into the event for free. Shortlisted entries receive two free passes to PGC London 2017. Non-shortlisted entries qualify for a discounted PGC ticket.

Convinced yet? You can head on over to the Pocket Gamer Connects London 2018 site for more details on our other fringe events and opportunities for indies, and register for a ticket.

We hope to see you there!
