The Pokémon Company has revealed a game for both Nintendo Switch and mobile named Pokémon Champions.

The title is developed by The Pokémon Works in collaboration with Game Freak. It’s described as an expansion on the classic Trainer battle experience that aims to make “core game-style battles" accessible to more players worldwide.

Pokémon Champions will support Pokémon Home, allowing players to use Pokémon from previous games alongside new partners. While there isn't a release date for the game just yet, the game will launch on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.

New experiences

“This new, battle-focused game will feature familiar mechanics such as Pokémon types, abilities, and moves, creating an environment conducive to rich and varied strategies for new and experienced trainers alike," The Pokémon Company wrote.

“It’s not just familiar mechanics—you’ll be able to bring in classic Pokémon from Pokémon Home, too! Look forward to cross-platform battles alongside your favourite Pokémon on Nintendo Switch and mobile, with a variety of different modes available for your desired experience."
