Swedish developer Resolution Games is celebrating 10 years since its founding, with more than 20 games and 30 million players reached over the decade.

A multiplatform developer, Resolution Games has a games catalogue spanning mobile, PC, PlayStation and VR. It also has a collection of card and tabletop games available in the Apple Arcade title Game Room, which can be played via iPhone, iPad and the Apple Vision Pro.

Meanwhile, Resolution’s VR RPG Demeo is playable on Apple’s hardware plus the PlayStation VR2 headset and Oculus Quest.

Getting busy

Over its decade-long journey, Resolution Games is credited with adapting Angry Birds to mobile AR for the first time, with the 2019 puzzle game Angry Birds AR: Isle of Pigs bringing the franchise’s famous faces to the real world.

More recently, Resolution Games raised $25 million in 2021 to expand its IPs. Revenue growth almost quadrupled within the year, and by the end of 2021, its workforce had expanded by 55% YoY.

Going from strength to strength, this record growth enabled the dev to acquire Stockholm-based studio Zenz VR as well as open its first US studio in 2022.

Fast-forward to 2025 and Resolution Games has just launched its third Apple Vision Pro game, Gears & Goo, a real-time spatial strategy title all about "chaos and creativity".

"Gears & Goo is more than just a game; it’s an interactive playground that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in spatial computing. We can’t wait for players to immerse themselves in this goo-filled adventure," said Resolution Games producer Johan Donwill.

Resolution Games has also taken to LinkedIn to celebrate the studio’s 10-year anniversary, posting: "10 years. 20+ games. 30+ million players. We’re thrilled to celebrate a decade of creating games and can’t wait to see what adventures the future holds. Thank you for being part of our journey."
