Steer Studios pulls Grunt Rush from app stores for planned updates

Savvy Games Group subsidiary Steer Studios has pulled its debut title Grunt Rush from the App Store and Google Play.
The move from the studio comes after the title launched on April 17th, 2025 and shortly went on to amass more than a million downloads.
A spokesperson told PocketGamer.biz that Grunt Rush was pulled from all storefronts “due to some important work with planned updates" and will have it back up in a couple of weeks.
The title is “temporarily" not available to new players, and since it is an offline game, existing players can continue to play without interruption.
Global debut
Grunt Rush was developed primarily by first-time developers, originating from an internal pitch competition linked to a developer training programme.
The game was released as a free offline tactical war game where players lead massive mob armies in epic battles, strategising to overcome opponents and unlock rewards through various levels.
In April, Steer moved to a new, larger office in Riyadh’s KAFD district to support its growing team following the launch of Grunt Rush. The new location also brings the studio closer to its parent company Savvy.
In the same month, we spoke with Steer Studios CEO Yannick Theler to discuss the game’s development, the challenges of building a studio, and expectations for the title.
Last year, Steer said it was expanding into console development with a new division formed. While no specific titles have been revealed, Theler hinted that a second project is also currently in development.
