Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona is taking place right now - spanning June 3rd and 4th with plenty of expert speakers and opportunities to network.

Subway Surfers has kicked off its latest World Tour event with Barcelona as its in-game setting.

Developer Sybo has been running World Tour events since 2013 and celebrated its 200th entry in the series this May, coinciding with the game’s 13th anniversary. Barcelona marks the 201st World Tour, introduced on June 2nd, 2025.

Summer in Barcelona

The Spanish city has been used as the subject of Subway Surfers updates in the past, but not since 2023.

This newest update, Version 3.47.0, has commenced Subway Surfers’ summer 2025 season with sunny streets and festive energy at the forefront. There are also new characters, costumes and boards to unlock.

"This summer, party like never before," said Sybo.

"Barcelona is not only full of colour, music and sun, but also exciting new surprises. Explore the city full of summer festivities and unlock new characters and time-limited rewards. Don’t miss out on this Summer adventure."

Pocket Gamer Connects

The setting of this latest Subway Surfers World Tour happens to coincide with Pocket Gamer Connects Barcelona, the first PGC event in the city where over 1,000 games industry professionals are assembling to discuss, exchange and connect on all things mobile, PC, console, AI, web3 and more.

Speakers have come from the likes of King, Rovio and Appcharge, with topics ranging from the direction of DTC to getting games published in China.

There’s still time to attend the event, taking place June 3rd and 4th, 2025.

We’ve also published a new Region Report on Barcelona’s vibrant games hub, putting the spotlight on some of the key players helping the local and wider Spanish games industry scene to shine.
