Supercell hits record $3 billion in revenue in 2024

Supercell hit a record $3 billion in revenue in 2024 as all of its live games saw sales rise year-over-year for the first time since 2014.
The Finnish developer said its titles garnered over 300 million monthly active players worldwide.
Its latest launch, Squad Busters, released in May 2024, grossed more than $100 million during its first seven months. Meanwhile, Supercell claimed that Brawl Stars was the fastest-growing mobile game in 2024, breaking into the top 10 grossing rankings globally.
Following a significant expansion of its team, Supercell now employs 686 staff, an increase of 31% since 2023.
As of February 10th, Supercell has officially closed its 100% acquisition of UK studio Space Ape, which will form the “backbone” of its London office.

Revenue (without deferrals, non-GAAP) rose from €1.57 billion in 2023 to €2.78bn ($3bn in 2024). With deferrals, revenue rose from €1.7bn to €1.94bn ($2bn).
EBITDA (without deferrals, non-GAAP) increased from €492m to €876m ($902.7m). With deferrals, EBITDA decreased from €580m to €287m ($295.8m).

Supercell claimed it presented revenue without the impact of revenue deferrals because “the difference with and without the impact of revenue deferrals is much bigger than for a long time due to Supercell’s rapid growth in 2024”.
“In 2024 we served more players than ever before in our history,” said Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen.
“With all our games growing, and Brawl Stars rocketing to outstanding success, this has been another milestone in our journey and, by many metrics, our best year ever - so far! These amazing results are a function of our amazing teams, culture of high ambition, risk taking, patience and long term thinking – and of course luck.
“We’ve still got a long way to go to reach our dream of creating games that will be remembered forever, but I am very excited about what is to come as we have better and stronger teams than ever before.”
