Team17 Group has rebranded to everplay group plc, under which developer Team17 will remain a distinct division.

everplay confirmed that the rebrand "only affects the group’s brand identity" and that Team17 will continue to operate as a developer, publisher and games label under its original name. Changing the overall group’s name is partially to avoid "any confusion" with the Team17 division.

Astragon and StoryToys, two other distinct developers and publishers under the parent company, will also continue to operate using their current names and branding.

New year, new brand

everplay’s rebrand has coincided with a trading update for the year ended December 31, 2024. The group noted its "improved" performance during H2 driven by new releases and the ongoing success of its back catalogue.

The group’s upcoming financial report for the 2024 fiscal year is expected to show revenues and adjusted EBITDA exceeding predictions.

"I am excited to be unveiling our new group brand today, which we believe better represents our business which has evolved greatly since the IPO and reflects our DNA to never stop playing," said everplay group CEO Steve Bell.

"This rebrand not only creates an ideal backdrop to foster greater cross-collaboration internally but also reflects our aspirations to expand our reach across complementary sectors within the broader indie market.

"Fundamentally, we want to create pioneering and captivating experiences that enrich and inspire players around the world, and I firmly believe everplay will become synonymous with creating games that deliver a lifetime of play."

For the purpose of shares trading, the group’s TIDM - its identifier on the stock exchange - will change to EVPL on January 24, 2025, with no change to ISIN.

The change of name to everplay is predicted to take full effect in early February.
