Ubisoft has partnered with web3 platform maker Immutable to develop a mobile web3 Might and Magic game called Might and Magic Fates.

The deck-building trading card game will be set in the Might and Magic universe with a release "coming soon" to iOS and Android. Ubisoft has promised hundreds of cards to collect and battles with familiar heroes and creatures from across time, intersecting turn-based strategy and card game genres with faction-based play.

Equipment, abilities and positioning will also factor into combat.

Might, magic and NFTs?

Might and Magic Fates marks the 12th entry in a series dating back nearly four decades. The first entry, Might and Magic Book One: The Secret of the Inner Sanctum, was released on PC and Apple II in 1986. Though initially a New World Computing IP, Ubisoft bought the rights to the name and franchise in 2003.

The latest release will mark the series' second mobile entry, following the 2019 RPG Might and Magic: Era of Chaos, developed by Playcrab.

Might and Magic Fates’ upcoming release follows something of a resurgence in Ubisoft’s mobile endeavours, having published Invincible: Guarding the Globe in 2024 and testing Rainbow Six Mobile through a multi-phase, revamped soft launch.

A port of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown also landed on mobile earlier this month, meanwhile Assassin’s Creed Jade is still awaiting a release date.

Might and Magic Fates' trading has been confirmed to be managed through an external Immutable-powered marketplace, with the cards themselves being NFTs.

Ubisoft has also noted that players will only be able to trade cards "in eligible regions", but assured that trading "provides no competitive advantage".

Immutable also launched its flagship blockchain mobile game in 2024, titled Guild of Guardians.
