Mobile publisher Zynga will host the Girls Make Games 2025 Summer Camp Program in its San Mateo headquarters.

Starting from July 7th, Zynga's headquarters will serve as the location for summer camp sessions for students aged 8-18 as they design and program their own games alongside industry mentors and counsellors.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of game development and design while working in teams to create a fully functional game that will be presented in a final showcase event.

Building the next generation

Founded in 2014, Girls Make Games offers summer camps, workshops and game jams to inspire the next generation of designers, creators and engineers.

“We’re thrilled to bring our students back to Zynga’s headquarters and are grateful for their commitment to investing in the next generation of developers,” said Girls Make Games founder and CEO Laila Shabir.

The program claims to have reached 6,400 girls through its workshops and camps, with an additional 23,000 through games, online resources and tutorials.

Zynga is a partner of the organisation and has previously hosted summer camp sessions, participated in mentorship programs, and supported the GMG Scholarship Fund through its Employee Resources Group, Women at Zynga (WAZ).
