Adding in livestreaming to thank its users

Baidu's Android screen recording app DU Recorder surpasses 10 million downloads in under a year

Chinese language Internet service provider Baidu has cleared 10 million downloads of its Android screen recording app DU Recorder since launching in September 2016.

The app is also currently in the top five most downloaded ranks for the "Video Players & Editors" category on Google Play in 61 countries around the world. It holds a 4.8 star ranking on the store.

DU Recorder allows users to record the screen of their Android device, making it useful for capturing video from games without the use of external hardware. Baidu is planning to add live-streaming capabilities to the app, including a facecam to record player reactions.

Dedicated fan base

"It's wonderful to see such a dedicated fan base and amazing growth," said product director of Baidu's Global Business Unit Mr. Cailin Tang.

"We want DU Recorder to remain the top choice of video content creators. We're committed to giving our users the best possible pro-level recording experience, including new features, for free."

Baidu sold its mobile gaming business Baidu Mobile Game for $173 million in April 2017. It was acquired in an all-cash deal by two unnamed companies.
