In March, published its seventh annual list of top 50 mobile game developers.

Taking into account a number of factors - including (but not limited to) financial success, global appeal, and innovation - it's a more holistic approach to ranking than simply comparing people power or revenues.

Helpshift, the San Francisco-based in-app customer support platform, has revealed that 17 of the 50 developers featured on the 2016 list use its service for their customer support.

Signed up companies include the likes of Glu Mobile, Wooga, and Supercell.

Happy players are paying players

And, with customer support so important for retaining users, the firm is keen for its role in their success to be recognised.

"To the gaming industry’s credit, many of the best game developers in the world, including our customers, have leveraged next generation solutions that work to help them grow and retain their user base,” said Abinash Tripathy, CEO and Co-Founder at Helpshift.

“Gaming has been a front-runner in the on-demand and ever-expanding mobile world.

"For that reason, we started the company with a strong emphasis on mobile gaming and plan to continue building a high-quality experience for leaders in the industry.”
