Monster Strike and Puzzle & Dragons have grossed more than $7 billion each

Mixi’s Monster Strike has passed worldwide lifetime revenue of $7.2 billion.

Sensor Tower reports that this places Monster Strike above long-time rival Puzzled and Dragons to become the highest-earning mobile app of all time.

GungHo’s title, for comparison, has grossed a mere $7 billion since its 2012 release.

To compare for fans less familiar with the Asian market, Sensor Tower references Pokemon Go’s $2 billion in lifetime revenue to date. Where Pokemon Go earned nearly $85 million this September, Monster Strike brought in revenues of roughly $112 million - making it the second-highest grossing game that month.

Mixi’s mobile hit is still experiencing growth, despite launching back in 2013. Revenue increased three per cent year-over-year in Q3 this year.

Downloads have similarly increased, bringing the game to 45 million lifetime downloads across Google Play and the App Store.
