Shanghai-based publisher 37 Interactive's mobile games revenue doubled to $516 million in 2017.

During the last financial year the company increased its revenues from overseas by 80 per cent with mobile games bringing in $157 million.

The publisher also reported an increase of 86 million mobile players, which raised its accumulated playerbase total to 189 million.

Going mobile

37 Interactive also reported a 17.9 per cent increase in total revenue which amounted to $973 million. Among that was a total net profit of shareholders was $255 million, which was up 51.4 per cent.

The company highlighted titles such as onghengjiyuan (Blades & Rings), Datianshizhijian H5 (Archangel H5), and Chuanqibaye (the mobile version of Legend of Conquest) as its standout performers.

37 Interactive expanded its mobile games portfolio back in 2016 with the acquisition of mobile games companies Mokun Technology and Zhiming Network for a combined total of $198.1 million, deals which have helped propel its finances upward.

As well as games, the publisher operates in a number of other areas including film, television, anime, music, literature, virtual reality and augmented reality.
