Electronic Arts has released its financials for its Q4 FY17 for the three months ending March 31st 2017.

It posted revenues of $1.53 billion for the quarter, up 17% year-on-year. Profits for the quarter however fell 37% year-on-year to $566 million.

For the year overall, EA generated revenues of $4.85 billion, up 7% year-on-year. Profits again fell to $967 million, down 16% year-on-year.

Slowing down

For its mobile games, the company generated revenues of $175 million, up 1% year-on-year. For the fiscal year, mobile generated $628 million, up 10% year-on-year.

EA identified FIFA Online 3 Mobile, NBA LIVE Mobile, FIFA Mobile, and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes as its key revenue drivers. The latter has now reached a record 162 minutes played on average per user per day, up from 155 minutes in Q3.

With mobile growth slowing, the developer is looking to double down on live ops and events while bringing new games to the platform. A new Sims title for mobile is due in FY18, and EA is developing mobile entries of other popular IP that are expected to launch in FY19.
