Global games company Gdev has acquired Cyprus-based mobile studio Light Hour Games.
As part of the deal, Gdev will fully fund Light Hour Games and offer data, analytics, and publishing support while the studio retains creative control and shares in its games.
Founded by ex-Belka Games CPO Konstantin Mitrofanov and former My.Games chief project manager Ilya Nikitin, Light Hour is a full-stack mobile studio focused on feel-good casual games.
“Best of both worlds"
With a lean team of 15 and heavy automation, the studio is gearing up to soft launch a story-driven tile-match game in October, combining familiar mechanics with emotional storytelling.
“Light Hour Games fits our vision perfectly - lean, talented, and driven by innovation,” said Gdev CEO Andrey Fadeev. “We believe in backing great creators with the freedom and support they need to make something unforgettable.”
Light Hour Games CEO Konstantin Mitrofanov commented: “Joining GDEV gives us the best of both worlds: the resources to dream big, and the freedom to build the game we believe in.
“We can’t wait to share it with players.” Stay tuned - the first Light Hour Games project is on the horizon, and it’s looking bright."
