Hybridcasual hitmaker Habby launches Archero 2 pitting players against the Lone Archer

- Hybridcasual pioneer Archero gets a sequel in Archero 2
- The original Archero has made over $350 million in player spending
Mobile hitmaker Habby has stealthily launched a sequel to its first big game Archero, the very title which coined the term hybridcasual.
The sequel, simply named Archero 2, follows a new protagonist on their mission to master every skill, conquer bow-based combat and survive the roguelike gauntlet to save the world.
As for the original Archero’s Lone Archer, they’re currently indisposed - captured by the Demon King and turned to the dark side, now a powerful leader of evil forces.
Aiming for the top
Expanding on its predecessor, Archero 2 gives players faster-paced combat, more control over their skills and a brand-new countdown survival mode. Of course, there are also plenty of dungeons to explore, rewards to discover and bosses to battle.
There are currently 50 main chapters, 1,250 floors in Sky Tower and a heap of available builds across the gear, talent cards, runes and artefacts in-game.
The new release comes more than half a decade on from the original Archero which, according to AppMagic estimates, has generated over $350 million to date in player spending. The US comprises its biggest audience in downloads and spending, contributing 31% of those earnings so far.
The original has also found popularity in Asia with South Korea and Japan comprising Archero’s second and third most-lucrative markets.
Since Archero’s launch, Habby has grown into one of the most successful hybridcasual publishers on the planet, with a catalogue that contains Survival.io, SSSnaker, Souls, and more.
Now adding Archero 2 to that growing list, the sequel comes during the soft launch of Capybara Go, another Habby roguelike for mobile. Available in Australia, Canada, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, the animal-based title sees players deck out their titular capybara with every skill imaginable as they go about making allies of frogs, dogs and mushrooms.
Between its strong catalogue and influence on the mobile games landscape at large, Habby naturally earned a place in our Top 50 Mobile Game Makers 2024 list.
