Jam City has launched its hit mobile RPG Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery in South Korea.

The title has been fully localised in Korean and is available on the App Store and Google Play.

It follows the release of the game in Hong Kong and Taiwan, complete with a localisation in traditional Chinese.

Eastern promise

A move to South Korea could prove lucrative for Jam City. Harry Potter is a globally recognised IP and RPGs perform particularly well in the country.

"Harry Potter is a globally treasured franchise with storylines and characters that resonate with fans around the world,” said Jam City CEO Chris DeWolfe.

“We are so excited to bring the magic of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery to players in South Korea so they can experience the adventure of the Wizarding World as the story continues to unfold."

At the start of August, market data firm Sensor Tower estimated Hogwarts Mystery had made around $55 million in revenue in just over three months after release.

According to App Annie data, the title has sparked up and down the top 70 grossing games spots in the US App Store over the last 90 days.
