Money on the mind: Rovio on the hunt for 'game economy planner'

Rovio, the Finnish studio behind the Angry Birds franchise, is currently seeking a 'game economy planner' through the PocketGamer.biz jobs board.
The curious role will require the successful candidate to create and manage the economies of Rovio games, constantly optimising the titles post-launch to ensure the maximum engagement, virality and monetisation.
Making diamonds
The posting itself casts little light over what this means for Rovio's business as a whole - or its plans for 2013 - though it appears freemium, or better use of in-app purchases, may be high on the agenda.
"We want to make diamonds and are ready to invest time and effort for picking the raw ideas and polishing them into brilliant quality game concepts," states Rovio.
"You will start by joining an existing product team and improving that game based on metrics as well as user tests and feedback from our fans."
Key skills
Rovio states applicants should have at least one or two years of relevant experience under their belts, and a proven track record in monetisation or game economy design would certainly be a plus as well.
More generally, though, Rovio is looking for applicants with strong communication skills, excellent analytic skills and experience with metrics-driven decision making.
If that sounds like your cup of tea, and you fancy working out of Rovio's offices in Espoo, Finland, then head on over to the PocketGamer.biz jobs board for more information on this position and a host of other vacancies within the mobile games industry.
