Fashion games company Muus Collective has shut down after failing to secure new funding.

The company's former VP of growth Amanda Lulewicz took to LinkedIn to share the news in a post, highlighting the current challenging market as one reason for the closure.

Muse Collective had 16 employees listed on its website front-page prior to shutting down. The studio had previously worked on fashion game Bellemint, which launched worldwide earlier this year.

“With a heavy heart, I’m sharing that we’ve had to wind down Muus Collective,” Lulewicz wrote. “While we built a truly special product that resonated deeply with thousands of passionate Stylists, the current challenges in the games market made it difficult for us to secure the funding needed to move forward.

“That said, I don’t see this as a failure. What we achieved over the past three years was truly extraordinary. This chapter has been one of the most defining and fulfilling of my career, and I’m endlessly proud of what we built and the community we served."

Big name backers

Backed by Griffin Gaming Partners, Muus Collective raised $5 million in 2022 to form partnerships and build web3 games communities.

Soon after, the fashion brand expanded its board of advisors by appointing Paris Hilton, Sabrina Kay, and Geetanjali Dhillon.
