Chinese games specialist NetEase has put $50m behind cloud-tech firm Improbable.

The deal consists of the Asian firm snapping up $50m of new shares in the London-based start-up. This follows a partnership between the two companies announced back in February of this year.

Closer ties

This new financial relationship will see NetEase using SpatialOS tech in a project which is set to be announced later this year.

It's possible we'll see something about this at Gamescom, given that it's the last big games trade show of the year.

This latest investment follows Improbable securing a $502m investment from Japanese financial organisation Softbank.
