While the deals and the stats of the gaming world are important, nothing would happen without the research, funding and, of course, development that goes into making a great game.

So here’s a collection of the most exciting new mobile games right now, the developers and publishers behind them, and why, exactly, they've made the cut.

Candy Crush Solitaire

King’s first fully launched new game in five years, Candy Crush Solitaire has finally released globally on the App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and more. The release marks the first time a King game has launched simultaneously on alternative app stores.

The title breaks away from Candy Crush’s match-3 origins, instead taking inspiration from Robert Hogue’s TriPeaks solitaire card game, but with its own candified twist. Executive producer Marta Cortinas spoke with us about Candy Crush Solitaire’s long-term goals and the value of "early prototypes".

The Art of Fauna

Picture-based puzzle game The Art of Fauna tasks casual enthusiasts with reorganising spliced artwork of animals into their correct forms, sliding tiles left and right, up and down.

Developer Klemens Strasser has also put accessibility at the front and centre of design philosophy, having implemented a text-based alternative for the visually impaired, which reorganising into a proper paragraph resolves the image at the same time.

Players can also customise the colour scheme, filter out animal species they find unsettling, and use voice control. A share of the game’s earnings go towards wildlife conservation organisations too.

Doodle Jump 2+

Mobile platforming classic Doodle Jump needs no introduction, developed by Lima Sky more than 15 years ago. The sequel to the endless platformer came in 2020, titled Doodle Jump 2, with its own host of worlds to discover and obstacles to avoid.

Now that sequel’s landed on Apple Arcade too, freely available to subscribers under the name Doodle Jump 2+.

Kardboard Kings

Crunchyroll’s Game Vault has been getting fuller and fuller in 2025, with its latest addition Kardboard Kings giving players the chance to run their own virtual trading card shop. The management-style game was developed by Henry’s House and originally published by Akupara Games on PC and Switch in 2022.

Snaky Cat

Appxplore has taken a new spin on the mobile classic Snake but, well, without the snake. Instead, Snaky Cat sees players control a cartoon kitty with incredibly slinky body, able to grow, bend and slither wherever food awaits.

The title received 1.5 million pre-registrations in the buildup to release, and now those players and more can jump into the cattiest competitive arena around. As long as they land on their feet.
