Pocket Gamer Connects London 2015 kicked off the mobile gaming year in style and at considerable scale, with over 1,100 industry executives from more than 620 companies flooding into London’s Vinopolis for two days of intensive networking, top class talks and after hours entertainment.

This represents a year-on-year increase of over 50 percent up from 2014's inaugural event.

The attendees represented the global nature of the market, with 45 countries across four different continents including a healthy turn-out from Asia and the US alongside the strong European basis.

Talk talk

Delegates enjoyed over 92 sessions from 161 speakers covering everything from acquiring users and educating game developers to publishing in Asia and or surviving as an indie dev.

Speakers included industry legends such as Peter Molyneux and Ian Livingstone, as well as the hottest UK companies including Mind Candy, Space Ape and Midoki.

There were plenty of global big guns in attendance too from King, Kabam, Natural Motion and Rovio through to Tencent, Gumi, Gamevil and Perfect World plus indie greats like Vlambeer, Mike Bithell, Bossa Studios, Fireproof Games and Frogmind.

Even more indies were added via the developer showcase and the biggest ever Very Big Indie Pitch, boasting over 70 developers and helping to ensure that over 75 percent of attendees were directly developing or publishing games.

Naturally all the major mobile game platforms were there, including Apple, Google, Microsoft and Amazon, as well as social networks Facebook and Twitter, middleware solutions Unity and the biggest names in UA from Applift and Chartboost to Inmobi and Tune. 

Beaming

Steel Media MD Chris James was delighted by the event.

"We've been totally blown away by the level of support  we've recieved this year and want to say a massive thanks to everyone in the industry who sponsored, spoke or just came along," he said.

"We had hoped to build on the success of last year's show, but an increase of over 50 percent is just breathtaking. This is a brilliant way to start the year and there's plenty more to achieve - for starters we've got three more PG Connects to come this year."

Next up is Pocket Gamer Connects Bangalore in April, which will be followed by events in San Francisco and Helsinki.
