Flaregames acquires Nonstop Knight developer Kopla Games

Flaregames has acquired Finnish start-up and Nonstop Knight developer Kopla Games.

The pair previously formed a partnership to launch idle game/action RPG hybrid Nonstop Knight.

The hit title was Flaregames' most successful launch ever, boasting two million downloads in four days, and playing a part in the firm tripling its revenue since January.

Understandably, then, Flaregames was keen to extend its relationship with Kopla Games - which will continue to be based in Tampere, Finland, following the deal.

Onwards together

"We simply fell in love with Kopla," said Klaas Kersting, Flaregames CEO. "We share not only the vision of making awesome mobile games, but have the same values and mindset."

"The founders have built a team with amazing throughput and we have a great working relationship. We are looking forward to many more jointly developed hit games."

To highlight the effective relationship between the pair, it is also highlighted that between soft launch and global launch, Flaregames and Kopla managed to boost day 30 retention by 75% and store conversion 130%.

And indeed, Kopla Games CEO Mika Kuusisto is similarly enthusiastic about the deal.

“After having worked together with flaregames since the beginning of the year, this deal was a no-brainer for us,” he said.

“It enables us to be super focused on quickly searching and finding what the players are truly interested in, knowing that flaregames has the know-how and muscle to scale it. Together we will create the next mobile gaming phenomenon.”
