Mobile and browser title Slither.io was the most searched game on Google in 2016.
Google has revealed the top ten games searched for in its search engine for the year, and only two mobile games made the list, both of which are also browser games.
Slither.io topped the list, owing to its popularity at the start of the year. The game it is largely based on, Agar.io, came second.
Slither.io is predicted to have achieved 80 million downloads in Q2 2016, just before Pokemon GO launched. It also reached number five on Google Play's top trending games in the UK for 2016.
Agar.io also had a good year, surpassing 113 million downloads 20 months after it first launched. Miniclip also managed to double the game's CPMs by introducing playable ads.
