Keywords Studios has continued its ongoing acquisition streak by picking up London-based animation studio Spov for £1.2 million ($1.5 million).
Spov was founded in 2007 and uses a wide network of animators and artists while maintaining a small core team in London. Its game credits include the intro movie for racing game Anki Drive.
Strengthening market position
"We are thrilled to have Allen and the Spov team of talented creative professionals join the Art Service Line at Keywords Studios," said Fred Stockton, Global Art Service Line Director at Keywords Studios.
"This acquisition will strengthen our market position as a leading provider of digital art services and will contribute to our continuing growth in this area."
Keywords has been acquiring studios of various disciplines over the past several months. In October 2016 it acquired Player Research for $1.6 million.
This was followed by the acquisition of Enzyme Testing Labs in November 2016 for $3.65 million. Most recently, Keywords picked up translation studio Sonox Audio Solutions for $700,000 in December 2016.
